Product Strategy

A Veriteer case study

Strategic product management transformation to elevate fleet management from tactical to strategic thinking.

The challenge

A global vehicle rental leader needed to transform their FleetManagement Digital Product team's approach from tactical to strategic. Their challenge was two-fold: communicating value effectively across the organisation and balancing long-term strategic goals with short-term tactical demands.

Our approach

We implemented a three-phase discovery approach to understand and reshape their strategic framework:

  • Conducted comprehensive stakeholder interviews with Project Owners andManagers to map existing challenges and opportunities
  • Developed a strategic framework built on three pillars: Vision (Why), Focus (What), and Clarity (How)
  • Created visual tools for strategic communication, including an Initiatives Map and Goals Hierarchy
  • Established clear connections between individual project goals and overarching business objectives

Our approach focused on process and communication rather than content, helping the team articulate and prioritise their existing strategic initiativesmore effectively.

The results

The project delivered a complete strategic communication framework that achieved:

  • Unified strategic vision across all Fleet Management work streams
  • Clear hierarchy of goals linking individual projects to business objectives
  • Structured approach to resource allocation and priority setting
  • Enhanced cross-team collaboration through improved visibility of dependencies
  • Improved strategic communication both vertically to leadership and horizontally between work streams

This transformation equipped the team with practical tools to maintain strategic focus while managing tactical demands, ensuring consistent progress toward long-term objectives.
